Much like the programs offered to support the educator, the Guard also has programs that focus of helping the student develop goals for success. These programs, also developed by professional educators, are free to the student and are focused on providing direction and guidance to prepare the student for success.

Career Exploration Program
Student Programs

This Department of Defense sponsored program offers students access to future-oriented and empowering career exploration and planning materials, emphasizing the importance of planning and decision-making. This program has three components beginning with the ASVAB test, a vocational and aptitude-measuring battery of tests, followed by in-class interpretation of results and supported by a website for further investigation of career interests. At a school’s request, the National Guard can help set up objective testing and results interpretation.

This dynamic and interactive classroom presentation takes students through the steps needed to prepare for life after high school. Through the use of slides, videos, discussion points and handouts, the presentation informs, motivates and empowers high school students by focusing on key decision-making skills including career planning, applying for a job and budgeting. Additionally, the program website houses a career mentor database that connects students with career mentors in their community.
