Drug Demand Reduction
Additional Programs

The National Guard Drug Demand Reduction Program is a "force multiplier" in support of drug prevention coalitions, state organizations and other various agencies in their efforts to reduce the abuse and illegal use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. The focus is on drug abuse education, prevention and awareness. Our goal is to add value to all communities and the lives of all youth in all the states, territories and the District of Columbia by reducing the demand for and use of illegal drugs, alcohol and tobacco. This program is managed by the state Counter Drug Coordinator.

Educator Lift
Additional Programs

The Army National Guard has much to offer young people looking for an education, skills training, or one of the many additional benefits it offers.  Recognizing that the Professional Educator is very influential in helping a student “reach out” to seize a dream and make it reality, the Guard believes it is important that the educator become familiar with the National Guard.  To accomplish this our Education Liaison Representatives often organize “Educator Lifts” where educators are invited to “spend the day” with the Guard, often flying on a helicopter to one of the Guard’s training sites, experiencing the “hands on” excitement of riding in one of our tanks or infantry vehicles, observing/participating in complex computer simulations or seeing state of the art maintenance facilities.

The Educator will also learn how the Guard can help expand the real world experience of young people, develop responsibility and maturity while they, at the same time, pursue their career goals.  Ask your Education Liaison Program about the “Educator Lift Program”.
